Gunfire Erupts at Howe Park Leaves 4 Shot in Sacramento's Arden-Arcade
Sacramento County Sheriff's Office investigators are probing a shooting that erupted late Saturday at Howe Community Park in the Arden-Arcade area at the moment officers were dissolving a large unauthorized gathering of an estimated several hundred individuals.
Before the Gunfire
Law enforcement were first called to Howe Park shortly before 6:30 PM after obtaining information of persons possibly in possession of concealed weapons. Following that, a follow-up call was made about an alleged brawl occurring within the park grounds.
Aerial units scanned the area from the air but reported no active disturbance. However, deputies found that hundreds of people had congregated at Howe Park without any permit or approval.

Law enforcement investigators found more spent casings scattered along Cottage Way. Projectile impacts were observed in the metal fencing surrounding the nearby Home Depot. This evidence confirmed that a second shooter had been discharging rounds toward the south from along Cottage Way toward the Home Depot building and parking lot. That Home Depot location was put under lockdown as a precaution. Crime scene personnel stayed at the location for hours.
Suspect Information
Information relayed through law enforcement radio communications established that a vehicle identified as a Kia had been detained in Solano County. Four detainees were stopped and detained. Sheriff's units were heading to pick up the four detainees to collect the individuals for further questioning. Footage analyzed by investigators made clear that the shooting involved two separate gunmen.
